Mrs Eaves
Type Specimen

I designed a double-sided type specimen that displays the font Mrs Eaves. Created by the type foundry Emigre, Mrs Eaves is inspired by Baskerville and named after John Baskerville’s live-in housekeeper and eventual wife. The finished poster is 32”x46” and contains all the Mrs Eaves variations, the font’s story, and a type sample on the back.

Her Story

Mrs Eaves is a beautiful font made famous, in part, by its intricately-crafted ligatures. You can most often find her displaying poetry or adorning the spines of books. I chose to lean into Mrs Eaves’ femininity with bright colors and type samples chosen from feminist authors.
