Salmon Defense Website

Salmon Defense is a Washington State non-profit working to protect salmon habitats for the good of the environment and Pacific Northwest culture. I was tasked with redesigning three pages from their existing website as a proof-of-concept for a possible future site overhaul. Using Figma, I built a fully functional prototype of the Home page, About page, and Project page.

Process

I discovered a few major pain-points in my audit of the original website and I worked to address them in my sketches and wireframes. The most essential changes included creating a prominent “donate” button and displaying it in the header, re-organizing information on the homepage for better hierarchy and storytelling, and utilizing more photography to provide tangibility and interest to the user.

Final Product

I learned how to use Figma for this project and was pleased with the amount I was able to achieve on my first try. The final prototype includes fully functional drop-down menus, buttons, links, and animations.
